David Hinchliffe - An Aussie in New York - 2017
Michael Ingbar Gallery (568 Broadway, NYC) is pleased to announce David's 5th solo show "David Hinchliffe - An Aussie in New York." Opening Thursday, March 30 to April 29, 2017. The exhibition features work the Australian-based artist has done over the last few months, with particular focus on New York's fabulous parks and streets.
This show continues David's love affair with the city that never sleeps. Since living here in the 70s, David has returned annually to his second home and to his studio on Riverside Drive, Harlem.
Michael Ingbar Gallery is located at 568 Broadway (downstairs from the entry) in Soho, New York City near the Prince Street Subway station.
New York City Light and Shade - 2015
The previous two years David has had sell-out shows at the NY Spring Affordable Art Fair. In 2015 David had a solo show called "Light and Shade" at Ingbar Gallery.
Morocco
These paintings were based on sketches and photographs taken during a trip to exotic Morocco including excursions to Marrakesh, Fez and Meknes in Morocco in 2014.
London 2014 Paintings

Paris
David visits Paris each year and records his images of cafes and restaurants, bookstores, street life and the great buildings and streetscapes of this magical city.
Havana Cuba
David has visited Cuba twice, mostly recently at the end of 2013. His paintings of Havana capture the casual and vibrant atmosphere of Havana streetlife complete with its signature vintage US cars and elegant but decaying buildings.
Melbourne Paintings
In Victoria David is represented by Manyung Galleries (Mt Eliza, Malvern and Sorrento). These Melbourne and Sorrento works were painted on a recent trip to Melbourne. "Despite the cold weather, Melbourne has fierce and fiery dawns and sunsets. There's something about that time of day I find really inspiring."
London Paintings
In London the UK, David is represented by Store Street Gallery in Bloomsbury London (www.storestreetgallery.com). These works were painted in their studio for the Hampstead Heath Art Show in 2013. David will participate in 3 exhibitions in London in 2014.
'Zen' Landscapes
Landscapes of the mind focusing on the setting sun, the rising moon, reflections of sky on water and the movement of tides. These paintings form part of the Buddhist Exhibition 'Reflections' held at the Chung Tian Temple, Priestdale, Logan from July 27 - Oct 30.

New York
David has had 4 successful exhibitions including two at Michael Ingbar Gallery (568 Broadway, Soho, NYC)and at the Australia Consulate in New York where he raised more than $12,000 for flood relief in Australia. He is a regular exhibitor at the New York Affordable Art Fair.
Buddhist Monks and Nuns
David's exhibition focusing on Buddhist nuns and monks opened at the Chung Tian Temple gallery in 2013. Most of the proceeds from sales at the exhibition went to the Royal Brisbane Hospital Foundation and the International Buddhist Assoc of Qld.
New Farm & Inner City
David lives most of the year in the inner Brisbane suburb of New Farm, next to the Brisbane River. "I love my daily commute to my studio in the Valley. New Farm and the Valley are my 'patch'."
